Q. What is a fartlek?
A. A fartlek is a Swedish word for “speed play”. It is defined as noun – a training technique, used especially among runners, consisting of bursts of intense effort loosely alternating with less strenuous activity.
Q. Why “Who Fartleked?”
A. Why not!? Fartlek is a funny sounding word (yes I am a 5 year old juvenile sometimes) and it is a great training technique for running. Since I want my site to be mostly about running (and any other adventures I see fit) and fun, why not? Also, no one else registered the domain. 🙂
Q. How long have you been running/into adventures/outdoors?
A. Running for me was a part of my life when I was younger only as it related to playing soccer. I played soccer from the time I was 5 until I was a junior in high school. I choose to skip my senior year because I was just burned out with it and I wanted to enjoy my last year of school (looking back I wish I would have played, but that is another story). Fast forward like 15 years and I was about 140 pounds over weight. Now I have always been the husky kid, but this was out of control. I decided to make 2014 the year to be a better me. I started exercising and eating better. Running became a big part of that and I have fallen in love with it. Other outdoor things, I have always been interested in. Always been hunting ever since I could and I enjoy camping and backpacking as well. (You can read more in my Home page here.)
